Summary of the House Committee Version of the Bill

HCS SB 544 -- CONVEYANCE IN CLINTON COUNTY

SPONSOR:  Johnson (Relford)

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee
on Correctional and State Institutions by a vote of 13 to 0.

This substitute allows the Spectra Communications Group of
Kansas City to run a underground telephone line across the
grounds of the veterans' home in Cameron.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that the bill is a utility easement
which is necessary to allow the company to place a utility line
on state property.

Testifying for the bill was Representative Relford.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
